Theda Kovac’s home should have been a sanctuary then someone turned it into a killing jar; Georgia Lamb must find out who – and fast.
One August morning environmental activist Theda Kovac is found dead in a house crawling with bees. Police dismiss her death as an accident, but Theda’s brother, Gilbert, suspects more; in her tireless campaign to save Sauvie Island, his sister made enemies…
PI Georgia Lamb has experienced life’s absurdities and thought nothing could surprise her. But murder by bees? She’s skeptical until bizarre pranks—running from grotesque to deadly—begin. As each new victim’s worst fear becomes reality, she is drawn into the festering secrets of two families. Before she can solve the mystery, Georgia has to confront demons from her own past.
Crackling with humor, The Killing Jar lures readers down a twisting path of greed, jealousy, and passion.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Ann Brandvig and Rick Becker have worked as magician’s assistant, carpenter, newspaper gofer, and choreographer.
Rick never set out to be a writer. He intended to become an astrophysicist but discovered an intense dislike for calculus and a crazy passion for poetry. That led to prizes from the Academy of American Poets. One snowbound winter deep in the wilds of NE Washington, his nearest neighbor gave him a shopping bag full of paperbacks. By spring thaw murder mysteries had him hooked.
For Ann it was never an either-or proposition. She always wanted to be a novelist and Gene Kelly’s dance partner. After teaching in Portland, Oregon’s performing arts school, she hung up her tap and jazz shoes but never lost her love for Miss Marple and Philip Marlowe. She and Rick fused their passion for mystery and wrote the Killing Jar.
